In the wake of the devastating blow Hurricane Katrina dealt to Michigan's oil and gasoline supply, I am renewing the call for the passage of a multi-bill alternative fuel package. We need permanent solutions that help us ease off our dependency on foreign oil. Alternative fuels will not only lower prices at the pump, but the production of these fuels will create jobs right here in Michigan.
